This graphic shows the Incidence Rate Report for the United States by state. Rates are from 2001 and 2002. There are various text boxes displayed around the graphic that describe different aspects of the report:
- Selection Box - this box allows you to select the data (Area, Cancer, Race, and Sex) that you would like to see on the table
- Generate Table (button) - click on this button below the Selection Box to create the table based on the data selected
- About this Table (link) - displays a text description for this table
- Quick Reference Guide (link) - displays this printable guide
- Tutorial (link) - displays a list of tutorials and demos available to this table
- Data Use Restrictions (link) - links to the explanation of the restrictions for this table
- Export Data (link) - displays the data from the table in a format ready for export to another application
- Make Map (link) - creates a map of the death rates displayed in the table
- Interpret (link) - displays a text description for the table currently displayed
- Printable View (link) - displays the current screen in a printable format
- Triangles (icon) - sortable columns in the report display a triangle in the header row. Click on a triangle to sort by its column. Click again to reverse the order. The direction of the triangle shows the order (ascending or descending) that the data are sorted in. A filled triangle indicates that the table is sorted by this particular column.
- Linked Geographic Areas (link) - click on a geographic link in the first column to get more information
- Annual Count (column) - This column refers to the average annual count per year over the rate period. To get the approximate total number of cases for the time period, multiply the number of years in the rate period by the Average Annual Count.
- Rate Period (column) - This column describes the years of data used in the calculation of the statistics for that state or county. Please note that years might differ due to data availability for different states and counties.
