Interactive Maps

Quick Reference Guide

This graphic shows the Interactive Map for mortality in the United States.

  1. Selection Box - this box allows you to select the data options you would like to see on the map from these dropdown lists.
  2. Generate Map (button) - creates the map based on the data selected above.
  3. About this Map (link) - displays a text description of this map.
  4. Quick Reference Guide (link) - displays this printable guide.
  5. Tutorial (link) - displays a list of tutorials and demos available for this guide.
  6. Data Use Restrictions (link) - links to the explanation of the restrictions for this map.
  7. Save Map Image (link) - saves the map image to a graphic file that can be imported into other software packages.
  8. Make Table (link) - displays the data on the map in a table format.
  9. Export Data (link) - creates a text file of the data, which can be used in Excel or other software packages.
  10. Interpret (link) - displays the text description for the map currently displayed.
  11. Cursor Areas - hover over a state or county to see its rate or click on a state to see its counties.
